…LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST
THURSDAY…
* WHAT…Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 8 to
16 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high
as 35 mph will also produce areas of blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE…Greatest accumulations across western Wyoming, western
Chautauqua, far northwest Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie Counties.
* WHEN…Until 4 AM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS…Travel will be very difficult with very poor visibility
and deep snow cover on roads. The hazardous conditions will impact
the commute this morning and this evening.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just
a few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
